I'm old enough to remember the heyday of movies in the 90's and early 2000's when movie critics were still respected and awards shows were referenced, even if they recommended some clunkers. The tastemakers had incredible power to make or break a movie and sold it all for cheap access and being in the right club.
Most people don't have nuanced tastes, as they don't have the time to study and understand the styles and subtle nuances that goes into media. In the end, good media with these mechanics still "clicks" in the average person to make him remember it for a long time, even if they don't quite know why. It shouldn't be seen as kingmaking, though it is that, and more a service to the masses who don't have the time to sift through piles of garbage.
I think I should have allocated more words to that, as that's really the thesis here. I think it's super important that we find a way to provide that service to normies, because it's something they actually want, even if they don't realize it. I see many interesting artistic projects, and no bridge for them to actually replace the slop people are presented with.
Most rightwingers just wanting higher quality slop is some of the most accurate shit I've heard all year.
Just one more new Classic Right Wing Super Hero universe and surely we'll take over art!!!!!
For a baseline starting practice, most conservatives should just try to emulate the artistic AURA of Heil Hitler and Bianca Censori's wardrobe. It gets you about 25% there at least for a start.
The Top Gun comment is so timely because I went to see the new Mission Impossible last night, and it felt like the same movie, only much worse. It had fighter jet footage and all.
I was the only young person in a theater full of applauding retirees who loudly expressed confusion the entire runtime.
The part about the Top Gun movie really stuck out to me because a few days ago my parents were telling me about a movie they had watched, but they couldn't remember a single detail about it until the next day when they were able to go through their watch history. they said they enjoyed it but to be unable to remember even the genre?

H8 Spree speaks of this...
I know only through experience~~
A Sam Hydesque but unironic book show would bang.

Had the exact same experience with my own parents. Consequence of the normoid gruel diet
